Conservative fundamentalist discourses in Latin America have accumulated political, legal and media power, using faith as a tool to push anti-rights, patriarchal and racist agendas, justify inequalities and restrict democratic life.
In response, four organisations and institutions with a background in critical theology, education and community work came together to challenge the capture of religious discourse by the far right, through a four-year regional campaign that seeks to counter hate speech and authoritarianism, and open up a space where spirituality can be lived as solidarity, dignity and democratic participation.

Challenge.
How do you create the visual identity for a campaign that speaks to broad audiences shaped by different strands of fundamentalist discourse? Audiences who may not agree on certain issues, but can still meet around common ground? Audiences with different ways of consuming information and relating to media?
Secondly, there was the challenge of creating an identity that would be easy to reproduce and modify, allowing certain elements to be adapted for the following years and themes. An identity that could be reused and revived.
Process.
In the Eucharist, sharing the table and food is essential.
In the same way, shared paths became a central part of the concept and identity. It is about collectivity and participation through love, care and work, where we can walk together with solidarity, constancy and joy.
Solution.
The handmade character of cultural and traditional graphic expressions from the region was the main inspiration for this.
The logo, with custom typography, works as a seal that recalls hand-drawn marks: rhythmic and harmonious, with no perfect or angular lines.
Accompanied by fire, an essential element of both spirituality and fight.
The illustrations, inspired by drawings found in crafts and community murals across the region, help represent different ideas and concepts in a simple and engaging way, focusing on elements of nature, everyday images and scenes from life.
